LSU student Gerard Lorio is passionate about his research and persistent in his pursuit of a medical career. Those efforts have culminated in his selection as a Goldwater Scholar, a prestigious honor reserved for only an elite few nationwide.
Each spring, National Wildlife Week reminds us to reconnect with nature, celebrate its resilience, and honor those working to protect it. This year, we shine a spotlight on Daniel Sinopoli, a Ph.D. candidate of the Department of Biological Sciences, working in the Chakrabarty Lab at the LSU Museum of Natural Science, whose passion for fish and commitment to biodiversity are helping redefine our understanding of North America’s freshwater wildlife.
Eighteen LSU students will showcase their research nationally at the 2025 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Pittsburgh, Pa. This marks the largest number of LSU students ever selected to present at this prestigious event.
