Biography

Dr. Ague Mae Manongsong is an Assistant Professor in the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development at LSU. She holds a Ph.D. from the School of Education at Drexel University in Educational Leadership and Policy. She also earned a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from CSU, Sacramento and a second Master’s degree in Organizational Behavior and Evaluation from Claremont Graduate University.

Her research interests center on investigating the role of mentoring in professional and leadership development. In particular, she seeks to explore how these different populations can utilize and benefit from mentoring to achieve their leadership aspirations, while interrogating the systems that prevent successful mentoring relationships through intersectional, feminist, and developmental network frameworks.

Dr. Manongsong’s work has appeared in HRD Review (HRDR) and HRD Quarterly (HRDQ). She has also written chapters for The SAGE Handbook of Learning and Work and Handbook of Research Methods in Careers. Furthermore, she is a frequent presenter at annual professional organizational conferences, such as Academy of Human Resource Development and American Educational Research Association. Additionally, she serves as the managing editor of the Human Resource Development International journal, ne of the flagship peer-reviewed journals in the field of HRD. She is also a member of the Academy of Human Resource Development, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Educational Research Association, and the Association for the Study of Higher Education.

Dr. Manongsong has collaborated on projects funded by institutional grants from Drexel University and Glasgow Caledonian University, as well as National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE Catalyst and MCA Directorate for Education and Human Resources grants.

Currently, as a faculty member in the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development, Dr. Manongsong teaches courses on learning experience design and creating change through e-Learning.
